Meet The Team

ALISON HARROD

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Alison is the Director of Breakthrough Therapy Solutions Ltd. and is an Independent OT. She spends her days completing OT assessments, designing and delivering 1 to 1 therapy programmes, and providing bespoke Brain Injury rehabilitation programmes, in addition to managing the staff team here.

Alison has 16 years experience of working with children with additional needs and acquired brain injury. Following a Music degree (BAHons), Alison completed a PGCert in Autism Education and an MSc in Occupational Therapy. She is registered with the HCPC and RCOT as an independent Occupational Therapist.

Alison also works as a Case Manager for young adults with Brain Injury. Alison has recently completed additional training in Sensory Feeding Difficulties and The Listening Programme ™ and is always on the look out for opportunities to further enhance her practice.

SUE WYATT

SPECIALIST TEACHER

Sue is our Specialist Teacher. She can be found running our Lego therapy, Handwriting and Hand skills group programmes. She is also able to complete 1 to 1 assessments of learning needs using dyslexic screening and other standardised tools. Sue provides specialist reading support and facilitates our parent support groups.

Sue is very interested in supporting families and pupils and can give advice on EHC Plan submissions. Her passion is to understand the child and remove barriers.

Sue is a qualified Primary Teacher with extensive experience of SEND and Inclusion. She has an Advanced Diploma in Special Needs in Education and has recently completed the National SENCO accredited course.

GEMMA BARKER

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Gemma is joining our OT team in November as an Occupational Therapist with 11 years experience in inpatient mental health. Gemma is Level 1 Sensory Integration trained and will be continuing her SI training with us. Gemma is passionate about early therapeutic intervention with children and young people with anxiety, mental health and sensory processing difficulties as a preventative to requiring inpatient care as an adult. Gemma also enjoys working with young people preparing for work or supporting them into meaningful occupation and vocations.

CHLOE GLEADHILL

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT

Chloe is a qualified Occupational Therapist and has worked in various education and healthcare settings. Prior to her MSc in Occupational Therapy, Chloe completed her degree in Psychosocial sciences and has a keen interest and knowledge of psychology. As well as working as an Occupational Therapist in community mental health and the acute hospital setting, she is also a qualified mentor and has worked as a youth worker. She is hugely passionate about working with children and supporting them to fulfil their goals. Chloe loves all things outdoors and enjoys being creative .

AMBER BELL

APPRENTICE BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR

Amber can be found in the office at Breakthrough HQ keeping everything under control admin wise. She is the face behind our social media and answering all your enquiries.

Before becoming an apprentice, Amber was at college studying Art and English and has volunteered in a local school with children with additional needs.

Amber is passionate about supporting the children, young people and families we see as well as keeping us all organised.

LEANN BOSCARINI

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT

Leann is an OTA within the Breakthrough Team and works 1 to 1 delivering children’s therapy programmes as well as running our Home Education, Early Intervention, Independent Living Skills and Hand Skills groups.

Leann has worked as a teaching assistant within a school for the last 9 years and has bespoke training in Autism and Mental Health, as well as challenging behaviour, engaging boys, and Elklan. Leann is a First aider.

Leann loves creating things and hopes to bring this into our groups.
